Our practice
Hanna City Presbyterian Church strives to be an intimate community of followers of Jesus seeking to help others become followers of Jesus as we together bring the good news of the Kingdom of God to a lost, hurting, and helpless world through intentional love and a commitment to truth.
Our conviction
Why is that our practice? Because...
...We believe the Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is useful for teaching and training, and is authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.
...We believe in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
...We believe that all are sinners and are saved only by God's mercy and grace.
...We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who, through His perfect life and death, paid for the sins of all who will trust in Him alone for salvation.
...We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells God's people and gives them the strength and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him.
...We believe that Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to judge all mankind and to receive His people to Himself.
...We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
OUR guiding documents
The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are our guide for how we walk out our faith as a congregation.
Secondarily to the scriptures, and as a member church of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), our local church government and policy are subject to The PCA Constitution, which consists of the PCA’s Book of Church Order (BCO) and the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms (Westminster Standards).
Hard copies of the BCO, Westminster Standards, and our local church bylaws and policies are available in our church office.
